Stephen Brennan

Dr. Stephen Brennan is Chair of the population health and wellbeing demonstrator Smart D8 and leads The Digital Hub’s innovation activities. He completed a PhD in physics at Trinity College Dublin in 1995. His passion is the application of technology to solve real-world problems, at scale. As well as a successful academic and corporate career, he spent 7 years as the Irish Government’s Chief Digital Advisor, devising Ireland’s first National Digital Strategy. He founded a successful software business challenging the approach to patient flow in healthcare settings. He devised some key digital transformation policy initiatives which have helped thousands of Irish businesses to thrive online and supported tens of thousands of people to develop digital skills.
