EU Administrative Law
EU Administrative Law is an overarching theme addressing most relevant legal and governance issues pertaining to the functioning of EU administration. Designed around the core concept of ‘implementation of EU law’, it provides you with the conceptual and practical toolbox, as well as the legal-policy framework for better understanding and working with/within EU administration as a multilevel system put in place for the effective application of EU law. It is an essential training programme for EU officials and national civil servants who need more basic or advanced knowledge and insights into the legal principles and rules governing EU administration, as well as into the complex processes through which EU law and policies are being implemented.
Our training portfolio
EIPA is offering an extensive and tailor-made (according to client’s specific needs) training portfolio covering the following themes:
- Introduction to EU administrative law and to the EU administration
- Acts under EU administrative law
- Structures and procedures in EU administrative law
- Actors of EU administrative law
- EU administrative law and the individual: ‘the right to good administration and other procedural rights
- Remedies and review procedures under EU administrative law
The aim of these courses is to equip EU and national officials with knowledge, skills and competencies to ensure the proper implementation of EU law and policies in the current EU legal-policy framework.
These courses:
- Provide a comprehensive overview of the legal principles, concepts and framework governing EU multilevel administration
- Enhance the ability to understand and operate with various types of EU administrative actions (e.g. binding and non-binding acts, regulatory and individual acts, preparatory and internal administrative act, public-private frameworks) and procedures (decision-making procedures, delegation of powers, review, investigation and consultation procedures, composite procedures)
- Improve understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the various actors of EU administration (both on EU and national levels) and the interplay between them
- Raise awareness of the relevance of substantive and procedural rights in the relationship between EU administration and the individual
- Develop the capacity to deal with remedies and review mechanisms under EU administrative law
- Upgrade knowledge and awareness on the legal impact of AI on the EU administration, in particular on EU administrative decision-making
