Paul Magnette

Paul Magnette is a Belgian politician. He is currently the President of the Walloon Socialist Party and mayor of Charleroi. Previously he was both minister in the federal and the Walloon government as well as Minister-President of Wallonia. In 2001, he was appointed professor of political science at ULB and Director of the Institute of European Studies. He also teached at the Paris Institute of Political Studies and has been a visiting professor at several European and North American universities. He is the author of numerous publications.
