Professional experience

Dr. Peter Braun is European co-head of the Public Procurement Practice Group at global law firm Dentons. He specialises in national and international matters of public procurement law, privatisations, Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) and regulatory compliance.

Dr. Braun regularly advises public sector authorities, such as federal agencies and municipalities, in structuring complex public acquisition processes, predominantly in the area of ICT. He is also experienced in litigating procurement matters on behalf of public sector entities and private sector companies before review chambers in Germany. Dr. Braun’s practice includes extensive experience in assisting clients in developing effective strategies for participating in tender procedures worth several billion Euro in total.

Peter has published widely in field of public procurement, advised on the implementation of EU Public Procurement Law and is a regular expert at national and international conferences and training seminars on the subject.

He regularly defends clients before the World Bank Sanctions Board against allegations of corrupt practices in World Bank procurement, advising vis-á-vis international financial institutions (EBRD, EIB, EU, et al.) to avoid debarment and cross-debarment and on the structured disclosure of past misconduct.

Peter has been consistently ranked on leading legal gazettes for a number of years as a notable practitioner in his field, including Chambers Europe and Legal 500.
