This course provides public sector leaders with the essential tools to tackle digital transformation, focusing specifically on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in public services, the new forms of work and the latest trends in HRM.

About this course

This course provides public sector leaders with the essential tools to tackle digital transformation, focusing specifically on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in public services, the new forms of work and the latest trends in HRM. Participants will learn practical strategies to navigate and leverage emerging trends that shape the future of governance.

Participants will explore how AI can enhance public sector efficiency, improve decision-making, and transform the workforce – all while ensuring ethical standards and a focus on human-centric service delivery. The course emphasises proactive leadership, the adoption of hybrid work models, and improved approaches to public sector modernisation, including user experience and collaborative policy-making.

Through interactive sessions, including real-world case studies and facilitated discussions, participants will explore solutions to common challenges in adopting AI and hybrid work models. The course will also offer insights into the future of leadership in the public sector, preparing participants to strengthen collaboration, manage hybrid teams, and lead with agility in a rapidly evolving environment.

What you will learn
In today’s fast-changing environment, public sector leaders face the challenge of adapting to new technologies like AI, while also managing workforce transformation, innovation, and service delivery. This course will address these challenges by providing practical insights and strategies to effectively manage work forces by placing the citizens at the centre and mastering the implementation of AI in the public sector.

Participants will, at the end of this course, be able to:

  • Apply the latest insights into AI policy and practical applications, addressing both challenges and opportunities.
  • Understand how AI technologies can improve public service delivery and support innovation.
  • Use AI to shape a proactive, healthy, and productive Future of Work in the public sector.
  • Drive public sector modernisation by applying empathy-driven approaches, collaborative policy-making and co-design, while mastering key trends in user experience and human-centric design.
  • Lead with agility and manage organisational transformation by utilising AI-driven insights to create a future-ready organisation, while promoting continuous learning in public sector organisations.
  • Frame the organisational transformation within a comprehensive quality management framework, with CAF serving as a potential tool to further enhance assessment and continuous improvement efforts.

This course is structured to deliver both practical insights and theoretical knowledge, comprising presentations, case studies, and interactive discussions. Each module will begin by capturing participants’ current knowledge and expectations through a short survey, ensuring that the content addresses the group’s needs.

Key presentations will provide expert insights into AI and organisational transformation, followed by real-world case studies that demonstrate how these concepts are applied in practice. Participants will engage in facilitated group discussions to explore challenges and co-create actionable solutions. These discussions will be dynamic, using interactive tools like voting and brainstorming techniques.

To ensure participants leave with valuable takeaways, the course will culminate in summarised results of discussions and presentations, potentially including an AI-generated manifesto or practical guidelines.

Networking opportunities will be available throughout the course, during breaks, lunch, and a first-day dinner, allowing for peer connection and further exchange of ideas.

This concise format helps professionals leave equipped with strategies and insights they can immediately apply to their organisations.

Leadership groups and officials from public sector organisations in Member States and candidate countries, including team leaders, middle managers, strategy developers, HR managers, and academics, focused on improving productivity in the public sector and adapting to AI-driven changes.
