About the event
In search for practices that lead to excellent performance, EIPA and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands perform a multiannual benchmarking study (2022-25) to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, satisfaction and trust of citizens, enterprises, and other relevant stakeholders regarding available products, services, provisions, and outcomes in ten policy areas in 35 countries.
The second chapter of the study undertaken in 2023 evaluates the performance of public services in the four key dimensions of people’s well-being: Social Security, Employment, Income and Wealth. While public policy significantly shapes these areas, their complete development is also influenced by global economic trends like demand and market prices, as well as demographic factors. The analysis is divided into two sections: the first covers employment, income, and wealth, primarily driven by market forces but influenced by government policies. The second section evaluates social security schemes, which address challenges like demographic shifts and health issues affecting elderly, sick, and disabled individuals.
Overall, the chapter aims to assess how government policies influence market outcomes and social security, addressing inequality and the effectiveness of welfare provisions amidst economic challenges. It concludes by evaluating policy impacts on life expectancy, happiness, and public trust, emphasising the dynamic interaction between policy inputs and societal outcomes.
On 27 November from 12.30 to 13.30 CET our experts will present the key findings and the interactive dashboard.
