Michael Dauderstädt studied mathematics, economics, and development policy in Aachen, Paris, and Berlin. He worked with the German Foundation for International Development and, since 1980, for the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES) at its research institute in Lisbon, collaborating with Central and Eastern Europe. From 2000 through 2006, he served as the Head of the International Policy Analysis Unit. From 2006 to 2013, he was the Director of the Division for Economic and Social Policy at FES. His research focuses on International Political Economy, European Integration, and Germany’s Economic Policy. His publications can be found on his homepage www.dauderstaedt.de.
