The European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Claudio Matera as new Director Luxembourg and Senior Lecturer in EU Law. Claudio took up his position earlier this month on August 15, 2023.
With over a decade of professional experience, Claudio brings with him an in-depth knowledge on EU institutional and substantive law as well as comparative public law. He has been working in the fields of research, consultancy and higher education in EU law since the fall of 2008.
Claudio is joining EIPA from the Department of Public Administration at the University of Twente (NL) where he was Assistant Professor in Comparative and European Public Law since 2015. Earlier on, he honed his skills at the prestigious T.M.C. Asser Institute in The Hague. During his time there, he played a pivotal role in designing courses and conducting training sessions for civil servants, judges, and legal practitioners from emerging member states and neighbouring nations of the EU. He also worked as a legal expert with the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism (ICCT) in The Hague.
EIPA looks forward to the expertise and fresh perspectives that Claudio Matera will bring not only to our Luxembourg antenna but the organisation as a whole, fostering a dynamic environment for the study and advancement of EU law.
EIPA’s Centre for Judges and Lawyers is supported by the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.
