Professional experience

Dr. Cristina M. Mariottini is an international lawyer and researcher based in Luxembourg. As of 2024, Cristina is a EU law lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA).

As reflected by her numerous publications and speaking engagements, Cristina’s primary focus is cross-border dispute resolution, both in civil and commercial matters and in family law. From 2012 until 2015, and from 2017 to 2022, she held a position as Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European, and Regulatory Procedural Law in the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law. Furthermore, she assisted in the development and servicing of multilateral treaties in the framework of the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL).

Cristina is member of the European Association on Private International Law, of the International Law Association as well as of the European Law Institute, and associate member of the American Society of Comparative Law. She is also member of the editorial board of the Rivista di diritto internazionale privato e processuale as well as of Giustizia consensuale, and editor of the blog conflictoflaws.net.
