Alain Guggenbühl
DNA Consulting Europe
Alain Guggenbühl is an academic and a practitioner of deliberation and bargaining mechanisms who leads the services of Diplomacy, Negotiation and Arbitration of DNA Consulting Europe based in Brussels. In over 25 years of experience, he has helped prepare almost every Presidency of the Council of the EU; trained and worked with hundreds of EU and national officials on collective strategies and individual techniques of negotiation. He has been advising Diplomatic academies, national ministries, EU institutions and agencies, regional offices, third countries, business executives, and social partners.
He has taught courses of EU Policy-Making and Negotiation Theory at the University of Louvain (BE). He has also previously directed an EU Law Office in Brussels and managed litigations. His publications cover a wide range of policy-making processes. He holds a PhD from the University of Louvain, two master degrees from the College of Europe (BE); and has graduated in International Public Affairs. He also holds certificates in negotiation strategies from the Kellogg School of Management (US) and the American Graduate University.
