Piotr Rapacz

Professional experience

Living in Brussels and working in the European institutions since 2005, Piotr has spent the majority of this period focusing on sustainable transport policy. Initially, he worked on railways and then transitioned to urban mobility, including cycling. Among his responsibilities, he drafted the New EU Urban Mobility Framework in 2021, revised the EU concept of Sustainable Urban Mobility Planning (SUMP), and contributed to the European Declaration on Cycling in 2023.

Last year, Piotr moved to DG Environment of the European Commission, where he coordinates the EU urban environmental policy and initiatives, including the Green City Accord and the European Green Capital Award.
