Rudi Strubbe

Government of Flanders’ Facility Agency

Rudi Strubbe is the Category Manager for Innovation and Technology at the central purchasing body of the Government of Flanders’ Facility Agency, where he leads projects ranging from the procurement of ERP systems to end-user devices and serves as product owner of EMPTOR, the in-house smart procurement assistant.

Rudi studied law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where he earned a doctorate in business law, and holds an MBA from Flanders Business School. He served as a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Law, teaching Accounting Law for 15 years, while pursuing a career at Alcatel, first as International Legal Counsel and later as General Counsel for the Benelux, the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia.

Rudi gained extensive experience in structuring and negotiating commercial deals in a highly innovation-driven environment and served as a director in group companies across North-West Europe. He subsequently assumed management roles in business development and international managed services programmes before leaving the company – now Nokia – and taking up his current role in 2019.
