Professional experience

Laurence Riehl is a French national working as an expert in French for European and International Relations. She has been working for more than 20 years at the Institut français d´Autriche where she developed the French language curricula for the Academy of Public Administration in Vienna and was involved in the development and delivery of training programs for civil servants in various national ministries, the UN in Vienna, the IAEA and the OSCE.

As an external expert for the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) she currently provides language training for the EU-Presidency: chairing formal meetings and negotiating in a European context, designing documents, simulation of Council Working Parties and intercultural communication competence. She is also specialized in this field in engineering and didactics training for trainers and public administrations.

She is a graduate of the Université de Strasbourg II (Modern literature studies) and the Université de Grenoble Alpes (French for specific purposes). She co-authored the book Objectif diplomatie 1, le français des relations européennes et internationales, A1/A2, Hachette 2017, and published many papers on the didactics of French for European and International Relations.
