Professional experience

Francesco Segoni graduated in International Economics from Bocconi University and later in Journalism from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. As a humanitarian professional with many years of field experience, his assignments include countries such as Haiti, Iraq, Yemen, Nigeria and Bangladesh among others. He currently manages communication on Gaza, Haiti and Afghanistan for Médecins Sans Frontières. As a Head of mission and Project coordinator, through the years he has led negotiations for humanitarian access and for the safety of the teams with stakeholders including local authorities, traditional leaders, armed groups and urban gangs. Prior to joining the humanitarian sector, he worked in the corporate sector and was a freelance journalist for various international media outlets including Thomson Reuters. He is the author of novels and short stories published on Italian online literary magazine.
