Following the aim to digitise the public services in Greece, Patras District Civil Court developed an online information system that provides services for citizens, lawyers, notary public and third-party public administration agencies. Furthermore, the same system is used by the judges and employees of the Patras District Civil Court for managing the workflow of court’s internal processes. The system was developed in-house using open-source technologies and it is hosted by the Greek Government’s Cloud Services.
In the newly created system, a Public Administration Users’ Authentication Service (oAuth2.0) was enabled for citizens. A citizen can apply online and then receive (digitally signed) different types of certificates, apply for digital signed copies of published testamony and find if a judgement has been published for their cases.
Moreover, lawyers can view more details about their cases (e.g. view the result of a judgement), track legal case files, create a list with all their cases and then receive automatic e-mail notifications when a judgement for one of their cases is published. Third-party public administration agencies can receive (digitally signed) several types of certificates about cases they are involved with.
