EU Environmental Policy – Course for EPSO Candidates
This online course will provide the participants with a comprehensive understanding of the EU environmental policies, supporting their preparation to the recently launched EPSO concours. The course will focus on circular economy, biodiversity protection and restoration, environment-related health risks. Participants will learn about EU legislation on waste, water, biodiversity, air quality and more. They will also be up-to-date with regards the latest legislative developments under the EU Green Deal.
The participants will learn about:
- The scope and content of EU environmental policies
- Key concepts such as circular economy, toxic-free environment, protection and restoration of biodiversity
- The EU Green Deal, its scope and current state-of-play of main legislative proposals
Course methodology/highlights:
The course will be delivered as a series of online lectures with enough time to allow participants to ask questions in an interactive way. The participants will gain access to the EIPA moodle platform, where they will have at their disposal all the presentations used during the course, as well as additional reading materials.
The course will particularly help participants:
- to prepare for the EPSO concours by providing a complete “tour de horizon” of EU environmental policy, understanding the underlying principles and regulatory framework,
- to familiarise themselves with the priorities and achievements of the EU Green Deal
Candidates for the recently launched EPSO concours for Administrators in energy, climate, and environment. Specifically in “Field 3 – Environment: contribute to the efforts to enable a sustainable and circular economy, where biodiversity and ecosystems are protected and restored, environment-related health risks are minimized, and where growth has been decoupled from resource use.”
Members of the national administrations of EU Member States, officials of the EU institutions, bodies and agencies, professionals interested in environmental policy.

EIPA member fee
EIPA offers a discount to all civil servants working for one of EIPA’s supporting countries, and civil servants working for an EU institution, body or agency
Who are the supporting countries?
Civil servants coming from the following EIPA supporting countries are entitled to get the reduced fee: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden.
For all other participants, the regular fee applies
Early bird discount
The early bird discount is not cumulative with other discounts or promo codes, except for the EIPA member fee.

Confirmation
Confirmation of registration will be forwarded to participants on receipt of the completed online registration form.
Payment
Prior payment is a condition for participation.
Cancellation policy
For administrative reasons you will be charged € 50 for cancellations received within 7 days before the activity begins. There is no charge for qualified substitute participants.
EIPA reserves the right to cancel the activity up to 1 week before the starting date. In that case, registration fees received will be fully reimbursed.
