On 18 February 2021, the EPSA – the European Public Sector Award – was launched by EIPA and its institutional partners. It is the only Europe-wide award scheme for public sector entities at all levels of government. Since its launch in 2009 by EIPA, EPSA is held biennially.
This year, the EPSA 2021 is supported by eight European public sector partners representing different levels of governance: Austria, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the Province of Limburg, the City of Maastricht, and the European Commission.
The development of public administrations in challenging times
As we continue to grapple with the complex and multidimensional challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, public service delivery must experiment and embrace transparent, inclusive, innovative, and sustainable solutions. The EPSA 2021 Award promotes efforts to advance an innovative, green, and digital public administration.
The EPSA 2021 themes are:
- Innovative Public Administration
- Green Public Administration
- Digital Public Administration
Applications are welcome from all European public sector entities, government levels, and the EU Member States. Public sector enterprises and agencies are also eligible to submit their projects for the award.
The EPSA recognises exemplary practices
We believe that sub-national, national, and regional efforts should promote efficient, effective, sustainable, transparent, accountable, and inclusive public service planning and delivery. The efforts contribute to progressing towards the goal objectives of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
The EPSA rewards innovative solutions to current and possible future challenges. Applications are welcome from projects that deal with health, social, economic, climate, and operational challenges.
The application period opens on 18 February 2021 and closes on 28 May 2021. You can find further information on the award, past editions, and how to apply on the EPSA 2021 website.
