Robin van Leijen is a housing expert with over seven years of experience at the intersection of social housing and European and Dutch legislation. Robin specialises in translating complex regulatory frameworks into practical solutions for the built environment.
As Chair of the Housing Europe Working Committee on Energy, Construction & Standardisation, Robin leads strategic decision-making across the sector. This role enables Robin to actively contribute to sustainability and innovation in housing, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and circular principles.
Robin possesses in-depth knowledge of key dossiers such as state aid, renovation programmes, and the legal frameworks surrounding housing. Robin was also one of the co-authors of the European Liberal Forum publication Building Freedom on the housing crisis, advocating for an active role of the public domain in housing to ensure equal opportunities.
With a broad network and proven experience, Robin acts as a bridge between governments, housing associations, and market stakeholders. Robin’s mission is to create solutions that not only comply with regulations but also foster a livable and future-proof housing environment.
