Professional experience

Since October 2026, Martina has been a postdoctoral researcher at the Luxembourg Centre for European Law (LCEL). Previously, she was a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in EU law at the University of Florence.

Martina holds an M.A. in European Studies from the University of Florence (2018) and an LL.M. in EU law from the College of Europe (2019). She is also an alumna of the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa (2013-2018). From October 2019 to February 2020, she served as a Blue Book trainee at the DG Budget of the European Commission. In 2024, she obtained, cum laude, a double PhD in EU law from the Universities of Maastricht and Florence, under the supervision of Professors Monica Claes and Nicole Lazzerini.

Martina’s research interests focus on the constitutional aspects of the EU legal order, particularly the protection of the values under Article 2 TEU and the Union’s budget. She has authored articles and chapters on EU law in various journals and edited volumes and has participated in international research projects (notably, TRIIAL and TRIIAL2). She is a member of the editorial committee of the Review of European Litigation.
