Maria Lorena Flórez Rojas

Dr Maria Lorena Flórez Rojas is an Assistant Professor of Law at the University of Groningen, specialising in the intersection of law, technology, and consumer rights. Lorena leads innovative projects, including the development of an ethical-legal toolkit for AI adoption in organisations. She has contributed to AI research within the CinfonIA group, coordinated a book on disruptive technologies, and authored pieces on AI in Colombia.

Her work extends to educational initiatives: she has contributed to two significant MOOCs on AI and designed the Ethics in AI module for a master’s programme. She serves as a member of the ad-hoc Technical Committee guiding the development of UNESCO’s Global Toolkit on AI and the Rule of Law.
