The project promotes the recycling of plastic and metallic packaging with reciprocal benefits. It has been designed under the initiative of the Political and Physical Leadership of the Hellenic Police with the aim, on the one hand, to strengthen the Orphans Assistance Account of the Hellenic Police Staff, and on the other hand to develop the ecological awareness of the Hellenic Police personnel. It is implemented in the Hellenic Police Services and buildings. The whole initiative is coordinated by the Institution for Care & Excellence of the Hellenic Police and was implemented after an agreement was concluded between the above-mentioned institution and the Reciprocal Recycling agency.

The implementation of the project started in June 2018 (in pilot mode) and has continued in full implementation from August 2019 until now. After issuing relevant guidelines on the organisation of the project and instructing the staff, the project achieved its development throughout the mainland of Greece and Crete within a short time. From the beginning of its implementation until the end of 2020, the quantities of recyclable materials collected quadrupled, resulting in a significant increase in the reciprocal benefit to the Orphans Assistance Account of the Hellenic Police Staff. As a result, there was a significant increase in the annual financial support to the beneficiaries, which improved the confidence of the traders in the Reciprocal Recycling agency.

Based on the criteria of the nationwide implementation of the project and the quantities of the collected recyclable packages according to the diagnostic tools of the Remunerative Recycling agency, the project applied in the Hellenic Police Service buildings emerged as the most successful remunerative recycling project in Greece during 2019 and 2020.

In 2020, there was an increase of 16.6% on the annual financial aid to the beneficiaries of the Orphans Assistance Account of the Hellenic Police staff. In 2022, there was an increase of 30% on the financial support given to the beneficiaries of the Orphans Aid Account of the Hellenic Police staff.
