Public sector innovation: tools and methods to create an innovation-friendly ecosystem

12 Mai 2022
9.00 - 16:00 CET

About the event

New challenges require public administrations to embrace and integrate innovation to develop new solutions for persistent problems, and to set new directions of administrative reform. In this sense, public sector innovation goes beyond merely adopting new procedures. It rather involves systematic organisational change to promote and foster innovation. To do so, administrations have several tools and methods at their disposal, e.g. innovation laboratories to help design and implement innovative solutions across departments and units.

This workshop introduces the concept of ‘innovation’ from a theoretical perspective, explaining the meaning of innovation strategies and processes. Practical exercise in the break-out rooms will focus on learning to work with tools to self-assess the level of innovation of your project/entity and dwell into your specific challenges faced in the implementation of your innovation projects.

Who can apply?

This workshop is addressed primarily to (chief) executives, public managers and innovation team managers. It provides a framework to reflect on practice. The goal is to share a better understanding of what innovation means and to interactively create action perspective for each individual participant to take their real-world innovation cases to the next level. The number of participants is limited and will be based on short application form to be filled below.
