We are excited to announce that Martijn Pluim is joining the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) as our new Programme Director, starting 1 September, 2023.
Martijn has already established a significant presence within the European policy-making community, building up his career at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in Vienna. Starting as Programme and Project Manager in 1999 he has been Director of the Migration Dialogues and Cooperation Directorate, leading around 350 people in 30 offices, since 2016.
Martijn brings an extensive network in EU Institutions, UN and other multilateral organisations, EU Member States and partner countries, combined with expertise in project development, acquisition and management to EIPA.
Born and raised in Maastricht, the Netherlands, Martijn has called Austria home ever since completing his Master’s degree in International Relations at the University of Amsterdam. Martijn is looking forward to his return to the Netherlands and embark on this new professional challenge as the Programme Director of EIPA.
Speaking to EU and Member States officials has made me aware of the multifacted challenges public administration is facing. I am glad that I will be able to contribute to a better Europe, with EIPA being one of the key organisations supporting public administration.”
Martijn also emphasises the growing significance of EU candidate countries, anticipating that these countries will be a focal point for EIPA’s future activities.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Martijn Pluim on his appointment as Programme Director and look forward to embark on new projects with our enriched management team.
