The train the trainers activity was part of the Luxembourg Technical Assistance Programme for North Macedonia, aimed at preparing the judiciary to meet the requirements of EU Chapter 23, focusing on strengthening judicial capacities.
The training, held at the Academy in Skopje, targeted trainers and staff responsible for the Academy’s legal training offerings. The programme was designed to enhance participants’ ability to design, manage, and deliver active learning sessions on EU legal topics and improve their proficiency in accessing and utilising EU legal information online.
Via interactive workshops and presentations, EIPA expert Diego Ramírez-Cárdenas Díaz, took the participants through improving legal research skills, monitoring EU legislative developments, and retrieving key judicial and legal documents. The initiative aligns with North Macedonia’s ongoing efforts to harmonise its judicial practices with EU standards, an essential step in the country’s EU accession process.
The training is part of EIPA’s activities under the 2024 Assistance Convention, facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Defence, Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade (LUX MFEA). Supported by the Luxembourg Government, it marks a continuation of efforts to build the legal and institutional capacity of North Macedonia in its journey toward EU membership.
