Professional experience

Mirko Noordegraaf is a distinguished Professor and expert in public management, currently serving as a Professor at Utrecht University‘s Department of Governance and Organisational Science. Since September 2023, he is also the head of the University School of Governance (USG) department. Before this, he held positions such as vice-dean of Societal Impact at the Faculty of Economics and chairman of the board of the USG department. He also chaired the Public Governance & Management (PGM) chair group within USG.

Prof. Noordegraaf is actively involved in various research programmes and initiatives, including the research programme ‘Public Matters: Co-creating Public Value’ and the focus area ‘Professional Performance’ at Utrecht University. He has also contributed significantly to education, designing and delivering public management courses and modules.

In addition to his academic work, he has led numerous commissioned studies and authored several publications in prestigious academic journals.
