Professional experience

Michele Zagordo is an auditor at the European Court of Auditors, Directorate Investment for cohesion, growth and inclusion. His recent work focuses on Youth unemployment and Cohesion policy (2014-2020 and post-2020). He has more than 10 years of working experience within different European Institutions. Before joining the Commission, he worked as Academic Assistant at the European College of Parma for the courses on EU Financial Perspectives and Budget and on EU Structural Funds. In 2008, he joined the European Commission, DG EMPL within the Unit in charge of European Social Fund (ESF) in the United Kingdom. He then moved to DG SANTE to follow up the Europe 2020 Strategy in the field of health. He has also worked as Economic and Policy Analyst for the European Commission’s Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).

Michele has a degree in Economics and Social studies and MA in European studies. He also holds a PhD in Industrial and Labour relations. He is a lecturer at the European College of Parma and has published on Educational systems, Employment and Youth policies.
