Larisa Munteanu

Protector PriVit

Larisa Munteanu is the Founder of Protector PriVit and a qualified Data Protection Lawyer and Officer, holding CIPM and CIPP/E certifications accredited by the IAPP. Her expertise lies in cybercrimes, data protection, and AI, working with a diverse range of clients across both the private and public sectors. She graduated among the top students from the Faculty of Law at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, and began her career through data protection collaborations with clients in the United Kingdom.

Alongside her professional work, Larisa is a PhD researcher at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she is conducting an analysis on how companies can (legally) reject data protection requests hiding malware attacks. To add to this, her findings were presented and refined at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge too. She has published numerous articles and regularly contributes as a speaker at international conferences, webinars, podcasts, and training sessions.

In 2022, Larisa won the Best International Future Lawyer Award, as part of the 60th Annual Congress of the International Association of Young Lawyers, held in Singapore. Her expertise has also been recognized by the Court of Justice of the European Union, where she was invited by the European Institute of Public Administration to deliver training on data protection, copyright, and artificial intelligence.
