In 2005, Mr. Doležal moved to Luxembourg to join the European Court of Auditors, one of the EU institutions, where he began conducting performance audits of EU funds used under Pillar I of the Common Agriculture Policy. He then transitioned to a unit responsible for compliance and legality & regularity audits, contributing to the ECA Annual Report Chapter on Natural Resources.
In 2017, Mr. Doležal returned to performance auditing, leading audits that resulted in four special reports and one review. Since December 2023, he has been working as a senior adviser to the Director of Chamber I, responsible for audits in the area of sustainable use of natural resources.
