Christos Sgaras is leading the Information Security & Business Continuity Team at Europol, the EU law enforcement agency.

He is a seasoned expert in the field of cyber security in private and public organisations at an international level. He has extensive experience in designing and implementing data security controls in compliance with data protection frameworks and he has a strong understanding of current challenges in the data protection and data security domains.

Before joining Europol in 2009, he was working as an Information Security Consultant delivering advisory services, information risk assessments, information security awareness campaigns and guidance on security strategy and governance.

He holds two MSc degrees on Information & Communication Systems Security and Forensic Computing & Cybercrime Investigation, along with multiple professional certifications in the field of cyber security.
