Andreas Bergmann

Dr Andreas Bergmann joined the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission in 2016 and has held several positions covering State aid and merger control. As head of the Semiconductor Task Force, he was responsible for the first set of State aid decisions supporting the EU Chips Act. Within the Policy Coordination and Case Support Unit, he oversaw the development of various Temporary Crisis Frameworks and the recently adopted Clean Industrial Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF).
Prior to joining the European Commission, Dr Bergmann worked as a top management consultant and engagement manager at a leading global consulting firm, advising primarily clients in the financial sector.
Dr Bergmann holds a PhD in European law and obtained master’s degrees from Sciences Po Paris and the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, where he also completed his undergraduate studies.
