Andreas Bergmann

Dr Andreas Bergmann is Deputy Head of Unit in DG COMP’s horizontal State aid policy and case support unit. He joined the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission in 2016 and has held several positions covering State aid and merger control.

Prior to joining the European Commission, Dr Bergmann worked as a top management consultant and engagement manager at a leading global consulting firm, advising primarily clients in the financial sector.

Dr Bergmann holds a PhD in European law and obtained master’s degrees from Sciences Po Paris and the University of St. Gallen (HSG), Switzerland, where he also completed his undergraduate studies.
