An Introduction to Information Policy

This course, provided by EIPA's partnering Institution eOppiva from Finland is focusing on understanding the objectives of information and information policy.

About this course

This course aims to stir you to reflect on the significance of information and thus help you recognise the importance of information policy in your work and, more broadly, in society as a whole.

The training includes both theory and also reflection tasks that relate to your own work, and it takes about an hour to complete. You can, however, spend as much time studying it as you need and move freely between the different sections.

How will it help you?

On completion of this module you will be able to:

  • promote discussions on information policy in your own organisation and networks;
  • help move your organisation’s work culture towards the goal of understanding the significance of knowledge in society;
  • use the objectives of information policy in your organisation’s working routines.

Target group

This is a basic module suitable for all public administration officials at all levels.

Practical information

This course consists of five sections and a quiz. The total length of the course is about 60 minutes, but you can use as much time as you need to explore the material and navigate between the sections. After all, we all learn individually and at our own pace.
