This project aims to solve current problems caused by the dispersion of information in various municipal departments which was not being shared among them, whilst it boosts an integrated cooperative management of the city. Besides, the platform is also displaying to municipal decision makers better quality decision support information (in real time, data analytics).

PGIL is a sustainable project, since data integration and analytics allow resizing and optimizing  human and logistical resources,  resulting in costs reduction and enabling the Municipality management to be more proactive. The Platform's cost-benefit assessment shows that this is a financially viable project, since the costs reduction to the Municipality is higher than the platform upkeep costs.

PGIL responds to current challenges in planning and city administration. It is applicable to other cities or urban areas facing similar management challenges aind aiming, like Lisbon, to become na increasingly practive efficient city that provides smart services, where decision is supported by data shared among services, partners and citizens.
