There have been different challenges that the projecthas focused on solving through this project.
i. The overall goal of Halden municipality is make the city attractive to its inhabitants and attract more people.
ii. The municipality has high consciousness in contributing to the global development goals and focuses on environmentally friendly solutions in every sector. One main goal is to ensure the citizens’ transport needs, while at the same time limiting the number of cars to the city center to reduce emissions, and bad air conditions.
iii. Many employees have a need for transportduring work time, and until now, their only possible way of getting effectivelyto their meetings is use of own car. Available parking in proximity to the worklocation is also limited.
iv. In 2017, Halden municipality had NOK 2.3 million in expenses for driving allowance for employees, and as the municipality focuses on reduced costs, they are looking for more efficient solutions to their daily business.
v. In the early process there were alsofound a need for residents that where are not able to have their own car, orthose who do not want to have their own car.
vi. The fact that most cars are not used morethan 1 hour per day, is also an incentive to make car sharing more common.
The case has addresed all the listed needs above andhas proved that the new solution has a positive impact on the Haldenmunicipality.
