Challenges for a labour inspectorate are becoming more and more important.

Additionally to all the new competences and besides all the other already existing competences, the administration is being challenged to give satisfaction to all of them. This in terms of delay and quality of service.

The projects objectives are as follows:

  1. Ensure better training for inspectors
  2. Avoid excessive hierarchical organisation
  3. Distribute tasks and responsibilities between the positions
  4. Remedy to the poor circulation of information and fill in the gaps in the instructions on procedures to be followed and rules to be adhered to
  5. Completely revise the organisation, structure and methods of communication
  6. Compensate for the lack of tools
  7. Implement an “ITM” culture
  8. Reinforce, in a general manner, the collaboration and synergies between all
    the acting authorities in the area of improving working conditions, or
    related areas.

  • Sufficient resources for the labour inspection tasks themselves (personnel; administrative, technical, legal and financial resources; IT tools).
  • Hierarchy, organization and communication policy.
  • Adapted know-how (recruitment, initial and in-service training).
  • Suitable methods involving the definition of strategies, objectives and priorities;
  • The creation of inspection programmes;
  • The implementation of a prevention policy; a global and coherent approach; the promotion of occupational health and safety management systems within companies; balance between advice and enforcement; evaluation of the system.
