About the event
The integrity of the public sector is at the heart of any system of governance which is based on democratic principles, the rule of law and the ethical behaviour of officials who are entrusted with the power to adopt and implement decisions. The abuse of such power constitutes corruption which not only affects negatively the delivery of public services, but also undermines citizen’s trust in the very system of governance. Hence, upholding ethical behaviour and re-enforcing public sector integrity is of utmost importance.
This workshop will introduce key concepts and practices of public sector integrity. Experts from the OECD and the European Commission will present empirical evidence as well as policies, initiatives and tools to foster integrity. In the workshop, experts will engage in a dialogue with participants to discuss the most important challenges to foster integrity.
This workshop addresses all levels of public administration officials.
