Valentin Gatejel

European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF)

Mr Valentin Gatejel has been the head of the Digital Forensic Sector at the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) since 2017, responsible for providing digital forensic support in OLAF investigations. Prior to this, he worked for the Romanian Police, specialising in digital forensics and cybercrime investigations. He served in the Romanian Cybercrime police for 6 years, before joining Europol’s Cybercrime Centre.

Over the years, he has handled complex international cybercrime cases, conducted live and post-mortem digital forensics on phones, computers, and cloud storage, created and delivered digital forensic trainings to law enforcement authorities, and coordinated digital forensic teams.
