Laurent Arrachart

Laurent Arrachart is an AI and Data Integration Project Lead and IT Business Analysis Assistant at the European Commission (DIGIT.A.4) on the Arachne+ system. He has more than 30 years of professional experience in IT, data warehousing, business intelligence, audit-related systems and decision-support tools, both in the private sector and within the European institutions.

His current work includes oversight of data, interoperability and AI exploration for Arachne+, the Commission’s risk-scoring tool for all management modes. He contributes to technical specifications, data-processing developments using tools such as SAP Datasphere and Quantexa on Apache Spark, stakeholder presentations and budget follow-up, including cost optimisation of AWS infrastructure.

Prior to this, he led a Business Intelligence Competency Centre and managed analytics and reporting projects linked to decision-making processes and IT project data. He also worked on the implementation of the data analytics dimension of the European Commission Data Strategy, including advanced analytics and AI. Earlier in his career, he worked for DG AGRI contributing significantly to the development of new audit tool, and carrying out a few IT audits in Member States.

Laurent holds a Master’s in Decision Support Systems from the University of Lille and an Executive Master’s in Information Risk and Cybersecurity from the Solvay Brussels School of management. His experience combines IT development, analysis, project management, financial and operational data analytics, procurements, IT controls and audits.
