Gloria Folguera Ventura

EUIPO

Gloria is the Data Protection Officer of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), in Alicante, and the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO), in Angers.

She has solid data protection legal & compliance experience in a broad range of industries, both at private and public sectors. Working in the EUIPO since 2017, first as Data Protection Coordinator at the Customer Department and in April 2020, she was appointed as Data Protection Officer. Before she worked several years in the private sector, as Data Protection Legal Advisor in a multinational company of the financial sector in Brussels advising on and coordinating the GDPR implementation within the organisation.

Passionate about the intersection of data protection, privacy and technology, Gloria holds a law degree from ESADE University, Faculty of Law in Barcelona (Spain); an L.L.M in European and Comparative Law from the University of Ghent (Belgium) and a Postgraduate in Intellectual Property and Digital Innovation from the University of Alicante (Spain). She is also a certified ISO 27001 Lead Auditor and certified Data Protection Officer.
