Alessandro Ferrara

Dr Alessandro Ferrara is senior public economist and evaluator specialised in general equilibrium cost-benefit analysis. He is an official of the European Commission where, at DG Regional and Urban Policy, he has been responsible at all three levels of programming: policy-programmes-projects. He worked notably on: cost-benefit analysis of major projects; computable general equilibrium and macro-econometric models to run simulations at policy level; managing the implementation of public investment programmes at national and regional level.
He also worked as seconded official in the interest of the service, as advisor to the European Investment Bank on cost-benefit analysis of public-private partnerships. He is the author of the book ‘Cost-Benefit Analysis of Multi-Level Government: The Case of EU Cohesion Policy and of US Federal Investment Policies’ published in UK and US by Routledge. He is currently a programme manager at the Unit Croatia and Romania, DG Regional and Urban Policy, European Commission.
