As part of Italy’s public administration broader strategy to strengthen digital sovereignty, INPS is embracing a Cloud Developer Platform (GenAIAsPlatform) designed to transform how the institution builds, maintains, and evolves its digital services.
This platform serves as a strategic enabler, allowing the organisation to streamline and standardise the entire application development lifecycle. By offering unified tools, shared frameworks, and consistent development practices, it reduces fragmentation and accelerates the delivery of high‑quality solutions.

Objectives
The GenAIAsPlatform is a strategic solution that enables the creation of generative virtual assistants extremely quickly and entirely without the need to write any code. This capability makes the development of intelligent assistants accessible even to those without specialised technical skills.
The entire lifecycle of the knowledge base is managed directly by subject matter experts, who can use a dedicated console to continuously monitor the performance of the assistants already in operation, optimise their behaviour, and update informational content easily and efficiently.
The platform also allows them to define every component of the knowledge base, test its effectiveness and its alignment with initial requirements, and proceed to publication only once the designated quality gate has been passed. After validation, the knowledge base can be published directly on INPS Portal, making the virtual assistant immediately available to end-users. This approach ensures reduced release times, high quality of service, and a centralised, well-structured management of content.
Implementation
In addition to enabling the creation of generative virtual assistants, GenAIAsPlatform provides a broad set of advanced capabilities that significantly extend the potential application of artificial intelligence within INPS.
