The European AI Office is currently overseeing the drafting of the Code of Practice for General-Purpose AI, a crucial step in implementing the EU AI Act.
These codes aim to guide providers of GPAI in complying with new obligations, addressing transparency, copyright considerations, and risk assessment and mitigation, which may be granted EU-wide validity through an implementing act. As the development of these codes moves forward through multiple drafting rounds until April 2025, it’s useful to explore not only the challenges and opportunities arising from the multi-stakeholder drafting process, but also the impact the Code of Practice will have on the AI industry and on the public sector.
Our panelists will share insights on how and why these codes of practice are being drafted, and their potential impact on providers and users on the rapidly evolving field of General-Purpose AI.
