Professional experience
Prof. Dr Michael Kaeding is a visiting fellow at the EIPA Maastricht. Michael Kaeding is a Professor of European Integration and European Union Politics at the Department of Political Science at the University of Duisburg-Essen. He is also an ad personam Jean Monnet chair.
Moreover, Michael Kaeding is the former Chairman and current Honorary Board Member of the Trans European Policy Association (TEPSA); Member of the Flying Faculty of the College of Europe and the German-Turkish University in Istanbul; and Carl-Schurz Visiting Professor at the University of Madison-Wisconsin.
Michael Kaeding also had previous affiliations with the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS); the Delegation of the European Commission to the United States; and the Secretariat General of the Council of the European Union.
Michael Kaeding holds a PhD from Leiden University and a Masters degree from the University of Konstanz.
Michael Kaeding has published a multitude of books and journals on the topics of political decision-making and non-voters in multi-level systems; Future of Europe; EU institutions and governance; EU Agencies; and European Parliament elections.
