Anita Drondina is an EU policy expert, who, during Latvia’s Presidency role in 2015, was also the Chairman of the working group and representative of the country to the Council of the EU. She has been focusing mainly on environmental laws and policies since 2000, and has experienced various aspects of EU policy making, including her country’s accession negotiations.
In her work at the Permanent Representation in the last six years, she has participated in forming the Council’s position and in representing Latvia’s interests in numerous environmental files. Familiar with the dynamics of interinstitutional negotiations, she successfully concluded talks on the Medium Combustion Directive within the 1st reading process.
