Xabier is a Technology and Security Officer at the Technology & Privacy unit of the EDPS (European Data Protection Supervisor) since 2017 and a member of the internal AI Task Force. He provides advice on technology developments impacting privacy and data protection, contributes to policy papers, and takes part in EDPS supervision activities. Xabier focuses on biometric data processing, artificial intelligence, anonymisation and online tracking and profiling. He graduated as a Computer Engineer and started his professional career in software development. From 2007 to 2017, he worked as Data Inspector at the Spanish Data Protection Authority.
