Stéphanie Gantzer-Houzel
DG Regional and Urban Policy, European Commission
Expert in European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) with an in depth knowledge of the whole cycle of fund management. She has extensive experience with EU institutions, where she worked both for the European Commission and the European Court of Auditors.
Working for DG Regional and Urban Policy at the European Commission, she participated in the preparation of the 2021-2027 programming period and in the drafting of the legal framework proposed by the Commission. She also took part in the reporting on the performance of 2014-2020 programmes. This experience enabled her to get a unique overview of the state of implementation of the current programming period and of the challenges faced for the next generation of programmes.
Previously, Stéphanie has worked for five years at the European Court of Auditors, where she led audits on numerous aspects of Cohesion Policy, both from the point of view of compliance with applicable rules and from the point of view of performance. From this period, she has kept an in depth knowledge of implementation challenges faced by ESI Funds managers in the Member States.
Stéphanie holds a Master in finance from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and a Master in international affairs from the University of St. Gallen. She provides trainings on European Structural and Investment Funds on a regular basis.
