Professional experience

Dr Johannes Gabriel is the founder and managing director of Foresight Intelligence, an organisational consultancy specialised in strategic foresight. For more than ten years, he has conducted long-term policy planning processes for the German government, designed intercultural and multi-stakeholder strategic dialogues for leading think tanks, and advised MNCs in organisational development and strategy projects. With Foresight Intelligence, Johannes implemented more than 120 foresight projects in more than 30 countries.
He is also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins University’s SAIS, teaching in its Global Risk program and a non-resident fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi) in Berlin. Johannes has authored and co-authored research articles for, among others, Futures and the European Journal of Futures Research. He was a PhD student with the Daimler AG’s internal futures research division and wrote his thesis about the philosophy of science of future studies and received a master’s degree with distinction in political science and economics from the University of Trier.
