Anna Maria Fontana currently leads the unit in charge of financial engineering in the Italian Agency of Cohesion promoting financial instruments, PPP and relations with EIB.

Between 2015 and 2018 she was in charge at the Managing Authority of the Ministry for the Operational Programmes for Research, innovation and competitiveness in 2007-2013 and in 2014-2018.  She introduced simplified cost options in these OP. From 2011 until 2015 she was responsible at the Department for Development and Economic cohesion for the programming of structural fund in Italian Regions.  She previously also worked in FINLOMBARDA and IPI (institute for industrial promotion), NOVA srl, APRE and BIC Lazio.
