Public Sector Housing Performance: Study Results and Dashboard Launch

20 June 2024
Online
12.30 - 13.30 CET

About the event

In search for practices that lead to excellent performance, EIPA and the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands perform a multiannual benchmarking study (2022-25) to evaluate the effectiveness, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, satisfaction and trust of citizens, enterprises, and other relevant stakeholders regarding available products, services, provisions, and outcomes in ten policy areas in 35 countries.

The fourth chapter of the study undertaken in 2022 evaluates the performance of public services in the area of housing. It provides a comprehensive analysis of housing policy through three main lenses: availability, affordability, and housing quality. The chapter also includes national case studies highlighting challenges such as private rental regulation and the opportunities available for first-time homebuyers, which are significant issues in today’s housing market landscape.

On 20 June from 12.30 to 13.30 CET our experts will present the key findings and the interactive dashboard.

The study is funded and supported by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations of the Netherlands.

  • How does government spending on housing impact housing quality?
  • What role does international income variation play?
  • What is the relation between housing allowances and rent regulation?
  • Do tax incentives lead to a higher mortgage take-up?
