Dirk Brounen

Dirk Brounen is a Professor of Real Estate Economics at Tilburg University and TIAS Business School.

In his academic research, Dirk focuses on international public real estate investments (REITs), the dynamics of investment decisions, and the energy efficiency of real estate markets. His research has been published in leading academic journals such as Financial Management, the RAND Journal of Economics, the Journal of Banking and Finance, the European Economic Review, the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, the Financial Analyst Journal, Real Estate Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, and the Journal of Real Estate Research.

Besides his academic work, Dirk has also been active as an advisor for various firms and organizations, like the pension funds ABP, PGGM, and KLM-Airfrance, investment funds like Achmea, Amvest, Bouwfonds, and Vesteda, the Dutch Ministries of Housing, Internal Affairs, and Justice, and the European Commission.
